How many of you have dreamed of going back in time to clean out every 5 & 10 store of the rare TimMees and stashing them away for the future? Or is it just me???
Hey Frank, it's not just you..:). Just to relate a small story, the store of interest in my small corner of the world in lower SC was a place called "Macks"; it had a popcorn machine, drink machine, paperback book rack, and in the middle of the store a toy section. In open bins, about waist high, sat a small section that contained the M48 Tim Mee tanks. I remember the exact bin because it was an old style with glass partitions between the different toys. This would have been in the very early 70's and I was making 1 dollar an hour working on my dad's farm. And, sometimes, I would hit that store with 75 dollars in my pocket. Naturally, I always grabbed a few M48's to add to my army, I'm guessing they were maybe 45 cents each. "Macks" is now long gone, remembered only by those of us who lived here..but the memories remain...
I would love to see Jeff Imel or someone else find the Timmee Russian molds and downsize the figures to match the Classic Toy Soldier Korean War Chinese and North Koreans. Those would be great figures to use for Korean War battles.
