TimMee Stars and Stickers Sheets
December 30, 2015 - Dress up your old or new Plastic Army Vehicles with these STARS and SERIALS Stickers. The classic white stars and green registration number stickers were standard on Tim Mee Tanks, Armored Cars and Jeeps for decades until they were discontinued some time back in the 90's. These sticker sheets were created for the Tim Mee reissued vehicles, but are very close to the size and style of the originals. The numbers on the registration number stickers have been changed from the originals so collectors will be able to easily tell the difference. Each sheet measures 2 inches square and has 3 white stars that measure about 1/2 inch diameter, 3 different registration numbers with olive green backgrounds and white lettering, 4 newly designed mini white stars that measure about 1/4 inch diameter, and one very small Tim Mee logo sticker. Very nice quality stickers that are printed in the USA.Tim Mee Stars and Serials Stickers

U.S. Air Force Figures
January 27, 2018 - After disappearing from store shelves back in the early 70s, the TimMee 65mm Air Force figures have returned to service with the introduction of two new colors; desert tan and army green. Missing in action, however, are the navigator w/binoculars, armament loader and the seated driver. These figures were originally introduced in the late 50s in aqua blue, butterscotch tan, red and gray...the latter being the rarest. The reissues look good considering the age and condition of the original tooling. The new set includes 26 figures and comes with the classic gold, white and blue TimMee header card theme.

52 comments:
It is so good to see these classic TimMee Toy products back in American production. I hope the company will consider reintroducing the classic army truck (with removable canopy)---that seems a natural. The original parent company, Processed Plastics, made a series of large-scale airplanes in the 1960s that were wonderful, including a B-56 Hustler Bomber. Any chance of those reappearing? Do those molds still even exist? My last question is: how did the Chinese get hold of the molds to make their awful versions of the TimMee army men?
The location of the cargo truck mold is unknown. Although some say it was sent to a South American toy company in the early 90s. So, until the mold is found and returned to the states or a replacement is made, we won't see a reissue.
I'm unaware of any plans to reissue the older military aircraft or the whereabouts of those molds.
The Chinese began making their own molds of the Vietnam era soldiers back in the 70s.
So they never got the mold for the Marching G.I.?
No. The marching G.I. cavity of the tooling was damaged back in the 80s and never replaced.
Are these all the reissues they will do, or are they still finding the old molds?
There are plans for an additional reissue or two down the road using either existing molds or perhaps a new one, if it's feasible.
Can't they just make a new casting tool?
It's not that simple. New tooling is quite expensive. So it wouldn't be cost effective for the company to invest such a large sum of money for a product that's geared for such a small customer base. Therefore, the only way new tooling could see the light of day at this point would be through a crowdfunding campaign.
..if the molds were still available, a re-issue of the "U.S. Sailors" would be cool. I don't ever recall seeing them in my youth, but I'd send a bag to all of my old navy buddies for sure...:)....
The mold is available but it's not in good enough shape to produce new figures.
Is the flashing to bad for the sailor mold?
Just an overall deterioration of the individual mold cavities. A test shot in early 2015 confirmed this. However, there were actually two molds for the Air Force figures. The latter being the one that was tested in 2015 as the seated drivers and two other figures were discontinued by the company. So the whereabouts(and condition) of original tooling is unknown.
Well I hope that they find some sort of driver mold, because we really need some one to drive all these new jeeps.
Yeah, definitely need drivers. It's a wonder someone hasn't attempted to recreate some of the TimMee soldiers with a 3D printer. I've seen quite a few war figures produced using that method.
On another note, I remember seeing prototype images when they were re-issuing the bucket of soldiers and in one they had a green raft with a motor. Any chance we'll a re-issue of that?
The raft reissue was scraped indefinitely because the tooling for it also contained two other boat molds and running the tooling for the raft alone wasn't feasible at the time. A future "workaround" is not out of the question, though.
that go same for the secret hollow rock also seen in that prototype?
Haven't heard anything about the terrain pieces yet.
Is there a chance of a tan C130 reissue?
It's possible ONLY if the demand is high enough and, therefore, cost effective.
Thanks for the reply. keep up the great work!
We need to get demand up for the Walker Bulldog tank to come back into production.
What ever happened to the molds of the russians or mobile atomic cannon?
The Russian soldier tooling were sent to TimMee's Mexican division decades ago and is presumed to be stored away in some warehouse.
Could we get them back to the Good Ol USA?
That's wishful thinking.
Any possibility that the staghound car could come back?
Anybody know where I can find the C-130 and/or the Sea King helo? My son is getting into the army men, and wanted to get him these that I remember in my youth! Driving me nuts looking in every nook and cranny on the internet for these things!
Check out Amazon or Victorybuy, they'll have the C-130 but unfortunately they ran out of the helicopters but hopefully they'll do another production of them.
Do you know were the mold for the korean era soldiers are?
I've never heard or read anything regarding the whereabouts of that mold.
Maybe it was destroyed.
So I see the helicopters are getting another run, any idea when they'll be available on Amazon? Also I hear talk about a prop plane and a fighter jet coming in the late fall.
The Copter should be available by the end of next month.
Enjoy the site. Timmee figures were the first toy soldiers I had. I remember many days having fun playing with them. Timmee soldiers still serve among my TSSD, CTS, Marx, ect. troops. Now my grandson is wanting to play with toy soldiers. He saw one of my Timmee trucks and wanted it, so now I have bought another Timmee truck to give to him for a birthday present.
Any chance we will see a reissue of the Air force figures?
Thanks for the great site.
BOBBYGMOORE (AKA COMBATMEN)
Glad you enjoy the blog. And it's always nice to hear that kids still like toy soldiers given the endless procession of electronic distractions there are in this day and age.
A test run of the remaining Air Force figures was made a while back and it was determined that the molds were too worn to produce marketable figures.
Hypothetically speaking, say someone were to donate a sum of money for the cost of new tooling for the marching GI mold, would J Loyd be willing to go through with it?
There was talk in the past about crowdfunding...specifically for the cargo truck. So far it hasn't amounted to anything.
You have to bear in mind that the TimMee Toys/Processed Plastic companies were all about CREATING toys. No crowdfunding campaigns required. No oil crisis stood in their way. They even managed to crank out new products during the stifling influx of overseas knockoffs. Eventually that proved too much for them. But man they put up one hell of a fight.
Then there's J. Loyd. You fill in the rest.
Sad to hear that the Airforce and Navy figures won't be remade. Hope we see the truck remade one day. Went on Amazon to see if I could find some C-130's gunships but they are out of stock. Are they still being made?
Thanks
BOBBYGMOORE
The C-130s will be available for order in late September.
What can we do to encourage the creation of new tooling for the cargo truck? My understanding is that it is their most requested item so they know the market is there but I get the impression that they need to be nudged pretty hard to actually get the ball rolling. I totally understand the hesitation to invest a big chunk of cash into new molds but it sounds like there are some interested parties who would be willing to help out. Hell Im not wealthy and I would be willing to dig through the couch for a few bucks to toss in the hat.
Aside from the aforementioned crowdfunding campaign idea, an online petition may get the attention of the powers that be at J. Lloyd International.
I was checking the BMC blog and i was wondering when they would be put back into production by Victory Buy, especially the Higgins boat. Any info?
BMC production won't resume until packaging redesigns and product improvements are complete. There's no timetable for that at the moment.
Will the galaxy laser team be cast in black and gray again?
I haven't heard any plans regarding the Laser Team.
I think some soldiers would look cool in orange.
So I hear the Walker Bulldog is up for reissue and its coming with GREEN swat figures!
The willys jeep is also being reissued!
Will the jumbo 6" soldiers be reissued?
Although the company does possess the tooling there are no plans to reissue them as they were never a popular item.
Oh that's a bummer. I hope to see more colors of the tanks and jeeps etc. to go with the other colored army men though. A lime green or a pink tank would look pretty fun. Lol Thanks for the reply.
